Ramadan Kareem 🌙Which simply means, we wish you a wonderful Ramadan.May this month bring you reflection, peace, and a return to what truly matters.Here in Marrakech, Ramadan changes the rhythm of everything.The days feel quieter. Slower. More intentional. From dawn to sunset, many choose to fast not only from food and drink, but from excess, reaction, distraction, and habits that no longer serve.Fasting is only one part of what is observed. In many ways, it mirrors traditions like Lent a conscious pause. A time to recalibrate. To give more than you take. To practise patience, generosity, forgiveness, and care.We all know the physical benefits of fasting how it can reset the body. But Ramadan invites something deeper: awareness. Gratitude for what you have. A moment to feel what it means to go without, and to allow that awareness to soften you.As the sun sets each evening, the city exhales. Families gather. Tables are shared. Bread is broken. Doors open. Neighbours connect. Food is offered freely. There is a deep sense of community grounded, grateful, alive.At Riad Botanica, Ramadan is part of the fabric of our home and our neighbourhood. It is something we live alongside quietly and respectfully.If you are with us during this month, you are warmly invited to experience it in whatever way feels natural to you. We’re incredibly proud to share that Riad Botanica is now showcasing selected works from Mina’s “Soul of a Rug” exhibition, first presented at the historic El Badi Palace during the renowned 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair.Mina’s contemporary exploration of the Berber rug tradition transforms Moroccan weaving heritage into conceptual art. Her celebrated “One Square Berber” piece a single square meter of handwoven symbolism captures the essence of Amazigh storytelling, geometric language, and ancestral craftsmanship. Small in scale yet profound in impact, it reframes the Moroccan rug as both cultural archive and modern artistic statement.At Riad Botanica in Marrakech, where design, texture, storytelling and authenticity define the experience, these works resonate deeply. By bringing elements of this internationally exhibited collection into our riad, we continue our commitment to celebrating contemporary African art, traditional Berber weaving, and meaningful collaborations rooted in Morocco’s creative heritage.
