Meet Astrid Zeegen
Few people embody personal style quite like Astrid Zeegen, the creator behind the much-loved platform Astrid I Want You In My Life @astridiwantyouinmylife
What began as a personal diary has evolved into a thriving full-time career and a vibrant community of women inspired by Astrid’s unique approach to fashion, interiors, travel and living well. Her effortless ability to blend colour with neutrals, vintage treasures with contemporary finds, and luxury with everyday pieces has earned her a loyal following who look to her not for trends, but for inspiration.
Astrid describes herself as a trendsetter rather than a trend follower. She champions small independent brands, sustainable makers, vintage finds and pre-loved treasures, believing that true style comes from individuality rather than conformity.
Her creative journey began long before social media. After leaving school, Astrid attended art college, specialising in ceramics—a path she never ultimately pursued professionally, though creativity has remained a constant thread throughout her life. Following a successful career in hospitality, she launched her Instagram account in 2018, unknowingly beginning a new chapter that would transform both her life and the lives of thousands of women who now follow her journey.
Today, Astrid lives in the beautiful South Devon countryside with her husband Simon who has become something of a social media favourite in his own right. Having moved from Surrey in 2019, she has embraced a slower, more intentional way of life, though she admits missing her two grown daughters.
For Astrid, style has always been deeply personal. Some of her earliest memories revolve around clothing, creativity and food: discovering treasures at jumble sales, wearing dresses lovingly made by her mother, customising her own clothes, dyeing garments, and occasionally breaking school rules in pursuit of self-expression. Fashion, for her, has never been about labels—it has always been about storytelling.
It is this curiosity, creativity and appreciation for craftsmanship that makes Astrid such a natural companion for Marrakech. Together with Marrakech Retreats, she invites guests beyond the guidebooks and into a world of hidden ateliers, artisan workshops, inspiring makers and extraordinary conversations—discovering the city through the lens of design, culture, craftsmanship and personal style.
