Do:

• Book a Marrakech yoga retreat or wellness program with people who are local, people that live in Marrakech and most importantly choose tours and retreats that resonate with your goals.
• Embrace the local environment, practice yoga outdoors, embrace the local traditions, try Moroccan cuisine, visit traditional souks.
• Respect self, take time and look at the costs, if it’s too cheap it simply won’t be comfortable.
• Dress code, wear appropriate clothes, yoga gear for the practice and when touring the medina or historical site dress appropriately, be mindful people dress modestly,
• Try to speak a little with the basics greet locals in Arabic or French, and be mindful were visitors.
• Tip, tip and tip, Morocco is a culture of tipping and cash is king!
• Most importantly allow time for self-reflection and enjoy slow travel
• Ask the Riad team for help with transport if your not keen on trying a local taxi. If your keen jump in a local taxi for a thrill and be mindful if doing so your ride sharing – you can agree a price up front or ask them to use the meter! Just show them where your going on your phone- they are amazing and know the city well.

Don’t:

• Overplan; retreats are about being present, not cramming activities.
• Arrive with rigid expectations, Marrakech thrives on surprise and sensory richness. Not to mention the best discoveries are when you get lost and find yourself!
• Don’t’ use the online driver apps, the experience is bad and UBER style apps are illegal.
• DO NOT Stay glued to your phone; disconnect to reconnect with yourself please!
