Angela, originally from Australia, has spent years building relationships with Morocco's creative, wellness and artisan communities, while Mohamed's Moroccan heritage and extensive local network provide invaluable insight into the people, traditions and hidden gems that make the country so special. United by a shared passion for meaningful travel and authentic human connection, they created Marrakech Retreats Co. to help retreat leaders, creatives, brands and private groups experience Morocco beyond the guidebooks. Angela Mellak has more than two decades of experience in marketing, brand building, hospitality and community development. Originally from Australia and now based in Marrakech, Angela has built a reputation for creating thoughtful brands, meaningful experiences and spaces that bring people together. Her work combines a passion for design, storytelling, wellbeing and cultural connection, with a particular focus on helping people experience Morocco in a more authentic and enriching way. As the creative force behind Riad Botanica and Marrakech Retreats Co., Angela collaborates with retreat leaders, designers, wellness practitioners and entrepreneurs from around the world to develop inspiring retreats, creative journeys and immersive cultural experiences across Morocco. A passionate advocate for women in business and conscious entrepreneurship, Angela has launched and led multiple successful ventures throughout her career and regularly shares her insights through mentoring, speaking and collaborative projects. When she's not hosting guests or developing new experiences, you'll find her exploring Morocco's artisan traditions, cooking, travelling, spending time with her daughter Zahara, and bringing people together around a table for good food and meaningful conversation.

Mohamed Mellak brings a lifetime of local knowledge, trusted relationships and deep cultural understanding to every experience he helps create. Born and raised in Morocco, Mohamed is passionate about sharing the country's rich traditions, craftsmanship and hospitality with visitors from around the world. Over the years, he has built strong relationships with artisans, designers, makers, guides, property owners and local businesses, creating a trusted network that allows guests to experience Morocco in a more authentic and meaningful way. Alongside overseeing the day-to-day operations of Riad Botanica and supporting retreat leaders across Morocco, Mohamed plays a key role in curating experiences that connect guests with the people, stories and traditions that make the country so special. Whether introducing guests to a master artisan, uncovering a hidden workshop or sharing his favourite corners of Marrakech, he brings warmth, generosity and genuine local insight to everything he does. Mohamed holds a Bachelor's Degree in Law and combines this academic background with extensive international business and property experience. After spending almost a decade working in Melbourne's inner-city real estate market, he returned to Morocco with a unique perspective that bridges local knowledge and international expectations. His expertise spans hospitality, property sourcing, renovation projects, negotiations and investment opportunities, and he continues to play an active role in shaping the future growth of the businesses. Away from work, Mohamed is a devoted husband and hands-on father to his daughter, Zahara. Family, hospitality and community sit at the heart of everything he does, and guests often comment on his kindness, calm nature and willingness to help. Whether welcoming guests to Morocco, sharing a favourite local recommendation or bringing people together around a table, Mohamed believes the most memorable experiences are built on genuine human connection.

As the co-founder of Life Instyle, she set a new standard in curating high-quality events. Her expertise has since expanded to large-scale commercial fit-outs and global luxury interior design projects, including super yachts, luxury homes, retreats, and luxury riads in Marrakech. In 2025, Claire will co-host the Design Discovery Marrakech luxury retreat, where she will share her deep industry knowledge and passion for authentic design. Her teachings are anchored in the balance and depth of Hatha Yoga, breathwork, guided relaxation, meditation, and yogic philosophy. Since those sweaty college summers, she's moved around the world with stints in Paris, Amsterdam, Sweden, Denver, Seattle and mostly Raleigh. Her effortless style, creative flair, and one-of-a-kind sense of humor infuse every moment with fun. Besides being a go-to travel advisor, she is a mother, wife, lawyer, volunteer and friend who recently swam from Alcatraz to San Francisco. While studying in Paris at 19, Toni fell in love with all things French. Her adoration for the country has only grown as she has continued to visit and study its history, art, language, and culture into her adult life. Toni delights in knowing just where to eat, and the best books to read, and believes the perfect speed to enjoy life is by bike.

Known for her unfiltered approach to midlife, Jane has become an accidental influencer, a voice of encouragement, and a walking permission slip for women to live boldly, be seen, and feel fabulous exactly as they are. After profound personal loss of her mum, dad, and sister to cancer, Jane carries a deep appreciation for life's sacredness. Nazanin started her Pilates journey nearly 20 years ago after suffering from severe back pain for most of her teenage years. Starting Pilates in her 20’s she realised through the mentoring of an incredible teacher the physical and mental benefits of Pilates while working a busy job in media, not only did she become pain free but was also able to find peace and grounding in practising Pilates 3 times a week. She went on to train to become a certified Pilates instructor with Body Control Pilates. And through combining teachings from both her instructor and her professional school, she has created classes that help with body reshaping, weight management, back, neck and shoulder pain, pre and post-natal support and management and prevention of arthritis. As she herself has just started going through the peri-menopause journey she has also developed special classes assisting women going through different stages of their life, to feel the best they possibly can. She is also the creator and founder of Pilatots a kids Pilates class, helping 2-4 year olds and 5–7-year-olds with development at vital stages of their lives. Nazanin now runs a fully booked private, bespoke Pilates studio in Ascot catering to clients between the ages of 14 – 80 years old. Nazanin says “As some who wasn’t happy with their body, in excruciating pain, under the care of medical professionals I know the power of Pilates first hand and I also see the difference it’s made to my client’s day to day lives.”
